Once again, Esprit Decor is proud to team up with local builder, Stephen Alexander Homes & Neighborhoods for the Coastal Virginia Magazine Idea House. This year’s house, “The York Lane Cottage” is located in Bay Colony of Virginia Beach. The 4,300 square foot home includes an in-law suite with a private entrance, a covered outdoor kitchen/bar, and a 30-foot veranda overlooking the sail-shaped swimming pool with built-in seating. At $2.6 million, this year’s Idea House is the most expensive to date. And with good reason!
Stephen Quick IV, of Stephen Alexander Homes, describes the home’s interior as “livable, but not over-the-top,” in that he imagines eventual homeowners sitting in any space, gazing around and wondering how it’s possible that they reside somewhere so special and conducive to living the good life. The splendid interior sports a widespread use of 7-inch “reclaimed” hardwood planks, an $80,000 cabinet package, deluxe baths, Brizo luxury hardware and a palette of new colors, all with a coastal flare. But the views to the outside, including of the Cavalier Yacht Club, are celebrated. Framing the natural scenes are Ply Gem top-of-the-line architectural series Mira windows, so expansive that, in some cases, they function as glass walls.
The Open House events begin November 3rd and run every weekend through the 18th.
